Wales Millennium Centre

Wales Millennium Centre

We have visited the Millennium Centre Wales on four occasions, the first was to see Britain’s got talent as guests of the production team, which was amazing as it was January and freezing so we were sat inside on the comfy sofas instead of queuing in the cold.
Future visits were to see Wicked, War Horse and Dirty Dancing, as the theatre was quieter we were able to take in more of the ambience, we sat and watched a band playing in the foyer while enjoying coffee and cake from the café, we then visited the well-stocked gift shop.
The building is really well designed and the temperature on each occasion was perfect for the time of year. There was a nice friendly atmosphere in the bar upstairs although I feel the bar would benefit from a more extensive array of snacks as there were many elderly people at the performances who would have found it easier to purchase from the bar instead of going downstairs to the café. We have been seated on each level and I was surprised at how high the upper tier is, as it looks deceptively low from ground level, I have a fear of heights and sitting in the front row of the upper tier somewhat disrupted my enjoyment of War horse, maybe this information should be added to the booking process. The view from the restricted view seats is very dependent on theheight of the person seated, I am 5ft 4in and had to either sit bolt upright or in an extremely slouched position to avoid the bar in front of me, a much person would be able to sit comfortably and see with no problems.
The centre is easy to find and most information can be found on its website, which is very easy to navigate, the closest carpark is Pierhead Street Multi Storey Car Park, which can be booked on the website for £3.60 a
day. If you are planning lunch or dinner there are several places to eat in the local Red Dragon Centre, who will validate your car park ticket so you can park for free. There are also several place to eat with gorgeous views of Cardiff Bay a short stroll away from the venue.

Each experience has been extremely enjoyable, the staff were courteous and attentive, and each show was amazing, I would definitely recommend the Millennium Centre as a theatre venue, is really an asset to the City of
Cardiff.
